Reasons To Stay Away From Fad Diet
Fad diets do tempt us! Right? But do they help us lose weight for long – term? The fact is the weight we lose with fad diets are the water content in our system, and not the actual fat. So, even if fad diets are helping you lose ‘weight’, you should stay away from them.
Why?

1. Depletion of Important Nutrients
Fad diets ask us to switch to different category of foods from the one we are used to. While this step helps in reducing weight quickly but they lead to the depletion of important nutrients from our body such as sodium, potassium, and other nutrients our body needs to function.
2. Increased Hunger
Fad diets are surely fun! But they can have really negative effect. How? With eating all the formerly ‘forbidden’ foods, our body starts to crave for ‘healthy’ foods and thus increase hunger cravings. The constant cravings increase and controlling the temptation looks difficult.
3. Long – Term Effect
The fad diets seems to be effective only in the first few weeks. After that, it turns detrimental for the body. Its insensible to follow a fad diet that will only give you health problems later on! There are many other ways to lose weight consistently for long term.
4. Lack of Proper Nutrition
Maybe fad diets will make you lose weight eating nothing but lean chicken breast pieces; most fad diets lack the nutrition required to maintain balance. If a fad diet does not contain the essential nutrients like lean protein, fruits, healthy fats, and vegetables, it is not the best fad diet.
5. Lack of Addressing The Real Reason For Weight Gain
Fad diet are a temporary solution. They don’t address the causes that led to increase in weight in the first place. The reasons could be emotional, physical, and mental. Instead of depending on fad diets, if you follow healthy diets and regular exercising diligently, then the chance of gaining the lost weight back is a high improbability. Thus, fad diets are not a permanent solution for losing weight.
Therefore, if your plan to lose weight is for the long – term, ask yourself whether the Jelly Bean or Tomato paste and other fad diets are really worthy for your long – term weigh loss plan. Or whether it is better to stick to a healthy plan that will give you all necessary nutrients and keep you healthy!
